Ports and harbours around the UK have asked Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) to provide them with the services that they require to manage and minimise the impact of oil spill incidents. Legislation, which came into force on the 15th August, requires most ports, harbours and oil handing facilities to have contingency plans in place and formal agreements for access to oil spill response services.
