SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--Sept. 7, 1999--
FibroGen, Inc. today announced an agreement with Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. to develop and commercialize human monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of fibrotic kidney diseases. Under the agreement, FibroGen and Taisho will collaborate to accelerate development of human monoclonal antibodies that neutralize the effects of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), a key cytokine in fibrosis.
