MOST aspiring politicians test the ground by releasing position papers. Warren Beatty released a film featuring a man in a woolly hat and baggy trousers instead. In "Bulworth", Mr Beatty played a Democratic senator who is finally driven mad by Washington's evil ways. He swaps his suits for ghetto gear, tears up his speech about "standing at the dawn of a new millennium", and starts rapping about the "real issues" instead: the hold of big money on politics, the lack of universal health care, the export of jobs to the third world.
