Mayor Edward G. Rendell will unveil his newly appointed Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board at its first meeting at SEPTA Headquarters. The Mayor formed the Board in response to the Workforce Investment Act of 1999 that created the concept of workforce investment boards to oversee local job training efforts.
