Sep. 7 -- KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The war of words over tax breaks for Ameritrade Holding Corp. continued last week with Ameritrade's site-location expert blasting the Kansas City Council for rejecting his client's bid for a $1 million tax break.
"Kansas City is a very small pimple that this consulting firm has supported for 20 years," said J. Michael Mullis, president of a Memphis, Tenn., site-selection consulting firm.
Mullis is a tax-break bounty hunter -- a behind-the-scenes fixer who greases the skids for companies in search of new sites and sweet deals.
