Former astronaut Buzz Aldrin has been busy of late promoting his "ShareSpace Foundation," an organization devoted to the proposition that "citizen explorers" should have an opportunity to venture into the farther reaches of the wild blue yonder.
Noting that "we now have spacious crew cabins, indoor plumbing and hot meals on the space shuttle," Aldrin announced that his foundation would be raising funds to purchase "passenger" space on the shuttle to be offered, sweepstakes style, to the public. Among the first to go, Aldrin believes, should be "a communicator, a journalist ..."
