Last month's Web Offset Association conference in Chicago provided a bountiful supply of insights, business truths, revealing observations, and both encouraging and troubling commentary, not just about the printing industry but also the world political scene and consumers' use of the Internet.
One troubling comment came from, appropriately enough, the keynoter John Major, former Prime Minister of Great Britain, who made note that, because of the present disarray in Russia, no one has really kept track of all the nuclear armaments in that country. Some of the weapons have been bought and sold, he says, and are no longer under the control of the military.
