Integrating disparate health care information systems and the data they generate has proven to be a formidable challenge. Some health care organizations, however, are beginning to make significant progress.
They're using a variety of technologies, including the Internet, intranets and interface engines, to make information systems interoperable and ease the flow of data over enterprisewide computer networks.
