Slime's slippery, slithery, and makes us go "eee-ew."
It's oozy and sticky and kind of like glue.
It looks sort of creepy and feels that way too,
But it's in many animals, and that includes you!
SNAIL TRAILS
Snails and slugs are two well-known slimies. They travel on highways of slime. As they move, their large, flat "foot" lays down slippery stuff called mucus (MEW-kus). The mucus helps snails and slugs slide over just about anything--including sharp rocks or thorns. What a great way to avoid life's hard knocks!
