RIDGEWOOD, N.J. and SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 1999--
The international subsidiaries of New Jersey-based Public Service Enterprise Group (NYSE:PEG) and San Diego-based Sempra Energy (NYSE:SRE) today announced they have completed their acquisition of approximately 47.5 percent of the shares of Peruvian electric company, Luz del Sur S.A. The move increases the companies' total joint stake in Luz del Sur to 84.5 percent.
The Luz del Sur acquisition was completed in two separate stages. First, Sempra Energy International and PSEG Global paid approximately $89 million for 22.5 percent of the outstanding shares in Luz del Sur through a public tender ...
