AKRON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 1999--
On Saturday, Sept. 18, 6:30 p.m. at the EJ Performing Arts Hall in Akron, 10 inventors will be inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF).
Their names will join 141 other inventors such as the Wright Brothers, Thomas Edison, George Washington Carver and, a more recent inductee, Stephanie Kwolek. Kwolek has recently received a presidential award for her invention's lifesaving abilities. Kwolek invented Kevlar, the lifesaving material used in bulletproof vests. When she was inducted to the NIHF in 1995, she was escorted to the podium by a Cleveland police officer. Her invention had saved his life ...
