The diversity of opinion concerning nutrient needs of pigs differing in genotype and production environment is quite large. While it is true that real differences do undoubtedly exist, clear evidence for unique recommendations based on carefully conducted experiments with adequate controls is often lacking. The values provided in Tables 1, 2, 3 and 4 represent our attempt to estimate nutrient allowances from the current body of published experimental results.
