NEW YORK -- More than 650 cable-industry executives, friends, family and business associates gathered last week to say goodbye to one of the industry's consummate dealmakers, Cablevision Systems Corp. vice chairman Marc Lustgarten.

Lustgarten, 52, died Aug. 30 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center here. The cause was pancreatic cancer. Although he fought the disease for 16 months, Lustgarten kept working until he was hospitalized in July.
