Mission Thinking in Harare
Harare was the venue of a most extraordinary, culturally and racially diverse grouping of Christians, who gathered together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the World Council of Churches (WCC), founded in Amsterdam in 1948. Those of us in attendance were warmly welcomed by our African sisters and brothers with words, drama, music, songs and dancing. Colors, banners and deep symbolism greeted us everywhere as we met in the Great Hall of the University of Zimbabwe to discuss and debate a variety of concerns and issues under the theme Turn to God - Rejoice in Hope.
