OSAKA, Japan--(BW HealthWire)--Sept. 24, 1999--
Santen Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., President and CEO Takakazu Morita, announced today that it has received approval for its NDA (New Drug Application) submitted on March 26, 1999, from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its new ocular allergy medication ALAMAST(TM) (pemirolast potassium) 0.1%, indicated for the prevention of itch due to allergic conjunctivitis.
Santen's Napa, California-based subsidiary, Santen Incorporated will launch ALAMAST in the U.S. ophthalmic market in 2000.
