Carbon dioxide which was always discharged as waste gas in the past has more and more become an important gas in the chemical industry. Its extensive use and potential market are just like any other industrial gases. China made carbon dioxide development rather late, and abundant resources can therefore be used. For example, high quality carbon dioxide is available in more than 1 000 ammonia plants, alcohol plants, petrochemical plants and refineries. China also has gas fields containing 95-99.8% carbon dioxide.
