Neka pipeline bid evaluation narrowed down
A list of 13 consortia bidding for the $400 million Neka-Tehran oil pipeline construction project has been pared down to eight as the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) aims for the start of work in the spring. Four groups led by UK, French, Chinese and South Korean firms are described as favourites by industry sources.
NIOC expects to pick the winner by the end of January and open negotiations that may last a couple of months, sources say. The 390-kilometre scheme aims to bring up to 370,000 barrels a day of crude from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan for use at the Tehran and Tabriz refineries, in exchange for ...
