Sep. 22 -- Getty Images Inc., a photo and film archive, said Tuesday that it has agreed to purchase The Image Bank of Dallas from Eastman Kodak Co. for $183 million in cash.
Seattle-based Getty Images said the deal would allow the combined company to enjoy faster revenue growth, as electronic photos from The Image Bank's digitized archive become available for purchase over the Internet.
Getty Images also said it would combine overlapping operations to reduce costs, though the company could not specify the extent or location of possible job cutbacks. Getty Images has 1,600 employees; The Image Bank has nearly ...
