Sep. 27 -- In a plea for greater understanding, addressed to a city that has long eyed it competitively, Harvard University issued a report this week describing its nearly $2 billion-a-year economic impact on the Boston area.
The report -- which outlines Harvard's economic footprints in terms of payroll, spending, research, and "human capital" -- is Harvard's latest contribution to the sometimes-strained dialogue between the nation's richest university and its neighboring communities.
