Oct. 5 -- Sabre, the travel reservation giant, said yesterday that it will help create a billion-dollar company based in Fort Worth.
Sabre will merge its Travelocity Internet site with another online company, Preview Travel, to create Travelocity.com, whose shares will be publicly traded.
The new site will be the third-largest online commerce site, trailing the pioneering bookstore Amazon.com and the auction site eBay.
Sabre Chairman Donald Carty said the combination, in effect, will be one of the 10 largest travel agencies in the nation. Analysts said it will be a solid leader of online travel sales ...
