I'm thinking of running for the U.S. Senate. The reason I'd like to be a senator is so I can sit on the Committee on Culture being planned by notable Aristotelian esthete Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.). I think it's high time America took back its own cultural destiny, and I want to be there to fight alongside the good senator from Kansas.
Surely the Congress of the United States - the august body that has brought us such edifying fare as the Anita Hill/Clarence Thomas hearings and televised testimony on how a simple cotton dress from The Gap could come to bear the presidential seal - will do a better job of safeguarding our national cultural mores than those ...
