For the first time in its twenty-seven year history, the American Music Awards is using a young British artist, Roni Stretch, to head the visual presentation of its Millennium show.

The American Music Awards 2000 is scheduled to be held on January 17th, 2000, the official day of remembrance for Martin Luther King Jr. Stretch will be painting an original oil, reflecting the spirit of the awards show and Martin Luther King, Jr., that will be used for the cover of the program as well as incorporated in its design.
