It's bath time for a chinchilla. Instead of heading for hot water and bubble bath, this animal dives into a giant pile of dust, rolls around on its back, and kicks dust into the air. The chinchilla wiggles and squiggles, dancing in the dust, covering its body with dirt, and making a terrible mess.
What does the chinchilla mother do about this dreadful behavior? She joins her child! Together they shake and shimmy gleefully in a moving, dust cloud.
Although you may think you've never seen a chinchilla before, you may, in fact, have seen many. It can take over 50 chinchillas to make one fur coat. However, it takes only one chinchilla to make a great pet!
