We are inundated with visual images from various media. For the creators of these images, it becomes important to understand how visual images may be produced or constructed for maximum aesthetic impact and artistic effect. Both scientific knowledge and artistic sensitivity are needed by producers/directors of visual communication media in order to understand the processes involved in the perception and codification of visual images by the brain.
