CAPE CANAVERAL AIR STATION, Fla. -- A Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite built by Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space was successfully launched today at 8:51 a.m. Eastern time from Cape Canaveral Air Station, Fla. This was the second successful launch of the new-generation replenishment spacecraft, designated GPS IIR.
