Article: 15% Growth of Foreign Investment in Central and Western Parts.

According to the latest statistical data from the General Administration for Industry and Commerce, in the first half of this year 7 222 foreign-funded enterprises registered themselves at administrative organs for industry and commerce, their total investment was 20.364 billion U.S. dollars and their total registered capital was 11.302 billion U.S. dollars, a drop of 2l.47%, 29.34% and 26.75% respectively from the same period last year. The foreign investment in central and western parts, however, presented a rising trend. Compared with the same period last year, the foreign investment made a 7.04% growth in central parts and a 15.86% growth in western parts.
