Trenchless technologies have changed the way water and sewer systems can be constructed and rehabilitated. Sliplining and pipe bursting techniques routinely are used to rehabilitate deteriorating pipelines, eliminating the need for extensive open-cut construction in streets and other areas where excavation would be costly and disruptive.
Directional drilling provides a fast, cost-effective way to install new pipe in areas where excavating is impractical or impossible.
