Renting equipment is not unfamiliar to most public works departments; municipalities have traditionally rented equipment to fill gaps in their own fleet line-up during snow events, flooding, and other emergencies. But as the rental industry has evolved, renting equipment for day-to-day operations has become a more viable option for many agencies, and in some cases, a fiscally responsible alternative.
