CLEVELAND - With a trip to the American League Championship Series at stake, the Red Sox and Cleveland Indians stepped onto the Jacobs Field lawn for the decisive Game 5 of their American League Division Series last night. Just three innings in, the teams already were exchanging haymakers in hopes of ending the other's season.
There was no place to hide.
With starters Bret Saberhagen and Charles Nagy gone, the Indians and Sox were tied at 8 after 3 1/2 innings in what had become a home run-hitting contest at The Jake.
