- After One Year of Treatment, Actonel(R) Cut Spinal Fracture Risk by 65 -
CINCINNATI, and KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- In a study published the October 13th issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, Actonel(R) (risedronate sodium tablets), an investigational drug for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, provided long-term fracture prevention for postmenopausal women with this bone disorder.
After three years of treatment in the study, Actonel significantly reduced the incidence of new vertebral (spinal) fractures by 41 percent and the incidence of non-vertebral fractures by 39 percent, compared with placebo. In ...
