WASHINGTON, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Flight attendants who fly for Midway's second-largest carrier, American Trans Air, are protesting today for better pay.

"We're fed up with corporate greed at ATA," said Denise Carden Zuziak, president of the Association of Flight Attendants' Council 33. "ATA's expansion in Chicago was made possible by the near poverty level wages it pays flight attendants. We want our fair share."

Flight attendants say pay rates are abysmal at the nation's largest charter airline which raked in $40.1 million last year. ATA is the 11th largest airline in the nation.

A first-year ATA flight attendant makes $14,283.
