Oct. 13 -- What Rob Rossi calls "subtle adjustments to the golf course" will be taking place at the Avila Beach Golf Resort in the coming months.

The par-71 oceanside course will soon open with a 500-yard par-5 hole, a slight dogleg to the elevated green that is now the putting surface for No. 2.

A new second hole, a 380-yard par-4, will begin near the current No. 1 green, with an uphill fairway extending to a new green. No. 3 will become a par-3 with a larger, rebuilt green, a water feature and up to 165 yards from the back tees.
