The nursing community has formed a new advocacy group to raise the profession's national profile.
Nurses for a Healthier Tomorrow comprises 16 national groups, including the American Nurses Association, the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the National League for Nursing, the American Red Cross and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
The groups want to mount a national advertising campaign that would encourage young people to enter nursing. They also want to dissuade nurses from departing the profession. The campaign would also educate decisionmakers about the value of nursing.
