Since 1890, a chateau has stood like a castle on the shore of Lake Louise, a turquoise glacial lake in the Canadian Rockies of Alberta.
The Chateau Lake Louise is a magnificent edifice. With nearly 400 guest rooms, it draws busloads of guests; additional busloads of travelers stop to gawk at the architecture, the lake and the guests, and wander through the upscale boutiques on the ground floor of this revered hotel, built by the Canadian Pacific Railroad.
