The story is the Bard's, but the cadence comes from the bayou.
Peter Fonda swaps "thee" and "thou" for "I reckon" as Gideon Prosper - aka Prospero - in NBC's fanciful "The Tempest," which premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. on WHDH (Ch. 7).
The play has been rewritten and transported to Mississippi during the Civil War. Fonda's Prosper is a plantation owner forced into banishment by his evil brother, along with his daughter Miranda and the slave, Ariel, whose mother has schooled Prosper in the art of magic.
