The Boston Public Schools have little chance of saving the race-based admissions policy at its exam schools by appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court, experts said yesterday.
The city not only has a slight chance of winning, but its case may never even be heard, experts said.
The high court has never agreed to hear a case involving affirmative action at a public high school. And it hasn't considered making a ruling on affirmative action at a college or university since 1978.
