FOXBORO -- Well before the opening kickoff it had already become clear that the Era of Good Feeling was over.
The Patriots might have sold out 49 consecutive dates under Robert Kraft's stewardship, but many of the ticketholders who showed up for last night's game against the Dolphins plainly came to vent their displeasure at the owner.
Should the Patriots continue their inexorable slide toward mediocrity, many of their fans will not bother to show up at all.
Robert Kraft was aware that he was assuming this risk when he announced the agreement that would move the team to Hartford for the 2001 season.
