WILMINGTON - Ten days after coming down with yet another unusual ailment, Bruins rookie Joe Thornton was back at practice yesterday. He won't be in uniform for the sixth straight game tonight when the B's host the Islanders, but it could be just a matter of days before he's ready.
As for the illness, Thornton said it was similar to mononucleosis, only it wasn't.
"I don't know what it was," said Thornton, who missed nine games earlier in the year with an ankle boil. "I was stuck in bed. I was tired. I had a fever. A cold. Everything. It's just one of those things that just tackle you. I've never been in bed sick like that before. All of a sudden I just ...
