Tom Leedham, who bills himself as the Teamsters' leading reformer, came to the Bay State yesterday, promising to empower members of the nation's largest union if they elect him president.
"We want rank-and-file Teamsters represented on every negotiating committee," he said. "We want rank-and-file Teamsters represented on any grievance panel.
"And that's not because it's a popular notion. It results in stronger contracts."
Leedham hopes to block the presidential bid of James P. Hoffa, son of the legendary ex-Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa.
