A note from Armageddon: The saddest thing about the apparently doomed Mo Vaughn-Red Sox contract talks is that personal feelings once again got in the way of sound baseball judgment.
The Red Sox hold some big-time grudges against Vaughn, ranging from his too-frequent criticisms of the way they do business to their distaste for his off-field activities.
Vaughn's disapproval of the Red Sox is no state secret, either.
