Frances Schwab of Boston, a retired social worker, died May 16 at Cherrill House in Boston. She was 85.
A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Ms. Schwab received a master's degree in social work from Smith College.
She was an active volunteer in many religious, peace and social justice organizations. During the 1960s, she was a member of the Boston chapter of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE).
Ms. Schwab was an early member of the New England War Tax Resistance, continuing this membership until her death. She was an active member of the Church of the Advent in Boston, and served as a member of the Vestry and St. Hilda's Fellowship, which she ...
