With the recent refusal of Wilfredo Cordero to plead guilty to a crime that he's allegedly committed, it looks like we'll be treated to yet another obnoxious celebrity trial ("Cordero checks swing at plea deal," Aug. 19).
Cordero is a selfish fool who obviously hopes to charm or dazzle a jury into letting him evade punishment by wasting taxpayers' dollars on a meaningless and unnecessary trial.
A filmmaker might title this event "O.J. Part II: The Sequel." Certainly we'll see similarities to the Simpson trial as this drama unfolds: The battered wife. The egotistical athlete with a nasty private side. Evidence. The 911 call. Red Sox teammates insisting ...
