Thais love to pan their elected government, but their Cambridge-born king is beyond reproach - literally, since it's illegal to disparage him, deface currency or lick a stamp with his image.
Bhumibol Adulyadej (pronounced "PU-mi-pone Adun-YA-det") enjoys near-divine status as a peacemaker, champion of the underprivileged, and even as a jazz clarinetist. He wrote the country's national anthem.
