After 14 years of public brawling, finger-pointing and lingering suspicions, one of Boston's greatest political mysteries might be solved.
Acting on a tip, state police assigned to the Attorney General's Office this week seized a desk purported to be the mythical piece of furniture once owned by legendary Boston Mayor James Michael Curley.
Authorities found the desk in the Belmont garage of restaurateur George Tecce, who claimed innocence yesterday, saying he took the desk from the sidewalk in front of a city building some 25 years ago as workers prepared to throw it out.
