A week before Victoria Gifford Kennedy asked District Attorney Jeffrey Locke to end his statutory rape investigation, Michael Kennedy gave her a half-million-dollar Nantucket cottage for $1, the Herald has learned.
The cottage - a 1,000-square-foot hideaway on the ocean in the exclusive Quidnet section of the island - was one of four bought by Kennedy and his brother, Douglas, less than a year ago.
