You should always be on the lookout for potential employees, says Jane Wesman, president of Jane Wesman Public Relations in New York and author of "Dive Right In - The Sharks Won't Bite, the Classic Guide to Entrepreneurship for Women."
"If you're in a service industry, your employees are your business," says Wesman. "And I've learned the hard way that hiring is incredibly difficult. That's the first advice I give entrepreneurs: Don't feel badly if you make mistakes - it takes most people years to learn how to recruit and hire."
At the same time, says Wesman, there are some basic rules entrepreneurs can follow to increase their rate of successful hires. ...
