Some claim it's because of the movie "A River Runs Through It." Others say it's simply because the stripers are back.
Whatever the reason, saltwater fly-fishing is catching on - and a day of fishing makes a great gift for Dad on Father's Day.
"Fly-fishing is much more difficult to learn than rod-and-reel fishing," said Sean Fields, an instructor at the Goose Hummock Shop in Orleans. "On the other hand, it's much more enjoyable to do. Why? . . . When you catch a fish on a fly rod, everything takes place directly in the hand. You don't have a rod and reel in the way."
