CLEVELAND - Teams get to the World Series because of their stars, so it's usually the stars who get the big hits, make the big catches, win the big games.
Carlton Fisk hit a home run in the 1975 World Series that nobody will ever forget. Willie Mays made a catch in the 1954 World Series that nobody will ever forget. And who can forget the three complete-game victories that Bob Gibson had against the Red Sox in the 1967 World Series?
But the World Series is also about the nobodies who become instant somebodies.
