The John Coltrane Memorial Concert didn't evoke Coltrane's sax style very often, but the jazz legend's devotion to the creative spirit was well honored.
This is the 20th anniversary Coltrane concert organized by saxophonist Leonard Brown and a host of locals, making it the oldest Coltrane tribute in America. (This edition also coincides with the 30th anniversary of the jazz great's premature death.)
