Joe Namath doesn't suggest Drew Bledsoe do what he did 28 years ago - "guarantee" victory before steering the New York Jets to the greatest upset in pro football history.
"But he'd better be downright confident," Broadway Joe said, knowing the Patriots are the third-biggest Super Bowl underdog ever - behind the Chargers (against the 49ers) in 1995 and his Jets.
Broadway Joe was brash before engineering the 16-7 Super Bowl III shocker over the Baltimore Colts that gave the young American Football League instant respectability. And he knows Bledsoe is hardly brash.
